Clinical Nurse Practitioner

Duties/Pligte
- Providing comprehensive health care (preventative and curative) to staff and students on all the campuses of Stellenbosch University (SU) as part of a multi-professional team;
- Providing emergency care to patients;
- Providing nursing support services at sport and other events on all SU campuses (which includes availability after-hours and on public holidays on rotation according to a roster basis);
- Dispensing medications (as defined by your scope of practice) and administering of adult immunisations;
- Performing operational management and administrative responsibilities, as determined by the multi-professional team within Campus Health as a unit;
- Participating in appropriate institutional activities which impact on service delivery (e.g., institutional presentations, seminars, workshops, etc.);
- Developing innovative and occupational-specific processes and programmes to continuously improve service delivery at CHS.
- Verskaffing van omvattende gesondheidsorg (voorkomend en kuratief) aan personeel en studente op al die kampusse van die Universiteit Stellenbosch (US), as deel van 'n multiprofessionele span;
- Verskaf noodsorg aan pasiënte;
- Verskaf verpleegkundige ondersteuningsdienste by sport
- en ander byeenkomste op alle kampusse van die US (wat beskikbaarheid na-ure en op openbare vakansiedae insluit volgens 'n rotasie rooster);
- Reseptering van medikasie (soos bepaal deur die bestek van praktyk) en toediening van volwasse inentings;
- Uitvoer van operasionele bestuurs
- en administratiewe verantwoordelikhede soos bepaal deur die multiprofessionele span binne Kampusgesondheid as 'n eenheid;
- Deelname aan institusionele aktiwiteite wat van toepassing is op dienslewering (bv., Institusionele praatjies, seminare, werkswinkels, ens.);
- Ontwikkeling van innoverende en beroepspesifieke prosesse en programme om dienslewering by KGD voortdurend te verbeter.

Job Requirements/Pos Vereistes
- Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Clinical Nurse Practitioner;
- A postgraduate qualification in Primary Health Care (PHC);
- At least seven to ten years' experience as a Professional Registered Nurse;
- Certificate in the dispensing of medicine;
- A valid South African driver's licence;
- Appropriate experience in the use of information technology;
- Demonstrable planning and organisational skills;
- Problem-solving skills on a clinical and team functioning level;
- Excellent communication skills on a clinical and team functioning level;
- Proven ability to work well within a multi-professional team environment;
- The ability to work under circumstances in which there is pressurise;
- A strong inclination towards client service.
- Registrasie by die Suid-Afrikaanse Raad op Verpleging (SARV) as Kliniese Verpleegkundige;
- 'n Nagraadse kwalifikasie in Primêre Gesondheidsorg;
- Minstens sewe tot tien jaar se ervaring as 'n Professionele Verpleegkundige;
- Sertifikaat in die reseptering van medisyne;
- 'n Geldige Suid-Afrikaanse rybewys;
- Toepaslike ervaring in die gebruik van informasietegnologie;
- Bewese beplannings
- en organisatoriese vaardighede;
- Probleemoplossingsvaardighede binne kliniese
- en spanverband;
- Uitstekende kommunikasievaardighede binne kliniese
- en spanverband;
- Bewese vermoë om goed in 'n multiprofessionele spanverband te werk;
- Die vermoë om onder omstandighede waarin daar druk is te funksioneer;
- 'n Sterk ingesteldheid op kliëntediens.

Recommendation/Aanbeveling
- Basic Life Support (BLS), or equivalent training in emergency care;
- Postgraduate qualification in emergency medicine;
- Postgraduate qualification in psychiatry;
- Experience in the delivery of primary nursing care to a tertiary student population;
- Training and experience in sexual health programmes;
- Knowledge and experience in financial management processes;
- Formal training in HIV / AIDS programmes;
- Training in the performance of spirometry, ECG, breast examinations and cervical smears;
- Any other appropriate postgraduate training.
- Basic Life Support (BLS), of gelykwaardige opleiding in noodsorg;
- Nagraadse kwalifikasie in noodgeneeskunde;
- Nagraadse kwalifikasie in psigiatrie;
- Ervaring in die lewering van verpleegdienste aan 'n tersiêre studentegroep;
- Opleiding en ervaring in seksuele gesondheidsprogramme;
- Kennis en ervaring van finansiële bestuursprosesse;
- Formele opleiding in MIV / Vigs programme;
- Opleiding in die uitvoer van spirometrie, EKG, bors ondersoeke en servikale smere;
- Enige ander toepaslike nagraadse opleiding.
