- Vehicle Pre-Trip Inspection Sheet must be completed before leaving the Company premises.
- Ensure vehicle is in good working order.

- All cargo must be weighed, and the driver must ensure that the vehicle is correctly proportion to its weight and strapped to prevent any damage to product/cargo at the delivery destination which may require the driver to

- Driver is responsible for the safety of the cargo and safe operation of the company owned vehicle.
- The Driver is also responsible to comply with all Road Safety and Traffic regulations.
- The Driver must also comply with speed limits and will be held accountable for any traffic violations.
- The Driver is responsible to ensure that he / she wears a safety belt while operating the company owned vehicle and vehicle safety equipment in the Vehicle.
- Planned Routes must be adhered to unless authorized by Dispatch Supervisor
- All detours should be reported to the Dispatch Supervisor
- Drivers must ensure that the paperwork to transport Cargo is correct.
- Driver must maintain communication with Dispatch and Customers who are expecting deliveries.
- It is recommended that drivers use hands free kits and not drive while talking on the cell phone.
- Ensure that vehicle logbooks are completed after each trip.
- Ensure all Delivery notes are signed for upon Delivery.
- All Documents must be returned to the Dispatch Supervisor
- Post Trip Inspection sheet must be completed after a trip is completed and all mechanical and or appearance defects must be noted and reported to the Dispatch Supervisor.
- Any accidents or incidents must be reported to the Dispatch Supervisor who will provide further instructions.
- In the event of an accident, it must be reported to the SAPS and a case number must be obtained within 24 hours and given to the Dispatch Number
- A vehicle accident report and Driver statement must be given to the Logistics Manager as soon as possible**Inherent Requirements**
- Matric Certificate
- Valid Code 14 Driver’s licence is essential.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a code 10 Driver.
- Clear Driving Record.
- No criminal record
- Abnormal work permit
- Excellent communication skills
- Must be able to work independently.
- Must be able to work under pressure.
- Physical Fitness and Good eyesight
- Understand vehicle tonnage and capacity to carry loads.
- Knowledge of Road and Traffic Regulations
- Alertness.
