**Introduction**:
**Job description**:

- Sound understanding of M&RC and client safety systems, policies and procedures
- M&RC and client risk assessment methodologies and principles
- Sound knowledge of Rand Mutual processes
- Understanding of accident / incident techniques
- Conducting investigations and recording findings

**Minimum requirements**:

- Grade 12 or equivalent** **Valid Code 08 Drivers' licence
- Trade certificate (Section 13)
- Degree / Diploma in Safety, Risk, Health, Environment, Quality, Hygiene or Training Management (preferred)
- Engineering Trade Certificate
- Basic knowledge of mining operations and methods
- Basic knowledge of relevant safety principles and systems
- Knowledge of relevant ISO standards (9001, 14001 and 45000)
- Strata control knowledge
- Blasting knowledge
- COMSOC 1 and 2
- Valid First Aid Certificate


- Supervisory experience preferred
- 3-5 years' in a relevant engineering field as a Safety Officer in an underground mining environment
- Understanding of incident and accident techniques
- Ability to conduct investigation and record findings
- Knowledge of strata control
- Hazard identifications skills
- Problem solving mindset with ability to make recommendation
- Sound knowledge of Rand mutual processes (advantageous)
- Basic knowledge of relevant safety principles and systems
