Senior Merchandising Planner

JOB OVERVIEW We are looking for a dynamic, analytical and commercially-minded Senior Merchandise Planner to join our Buying team. The Senior Merchandise Planner will manage inventory health in the context of sales targets, marketing activities and industry trends by analysing stock turn and managing supply chain accordingly. The Senior Merchandise Planner will measure supplier performance/ conformance and provide data and insights to support supplier negotiations as well as coach suppliers to improve compliance to SLA. Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, work closely with the buying teams across the portfolio and broader business to understand the business requirements, supply chain challenges and working capital optimisation goals. Responsibility will span the portfolio of Silvertree Brands, with focus on UCOOK, Pet Heaven and Urbanpaws. ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES - Optimise forecasting tools to ensure target availability and stock holding - Maintain demand plan, working in line with the financial KPIs and promotional plans - Ensure team understands and utilises tools available to purchase, analyse and react to trends in the business to achieve growth and profitability objectives - Identify related products to determine substitution and manage inventory levels appropriately - Measure supplier performance and build effective partnerships with suppliers to improve performance and drive efficiencies - Determine the optimal sourcing strategy to ensure reliable supply of products procured at the optimum quantity to maximise margin while maintaining stock health - With Buying, collaborate to identify pricing and liquidation opportunities to manage transition of product. Identify stock opportunities to trade the department - Maintain Aged stock levels to a minimum by highlighting slow sellers/at risk stock on time so stock is not written off - Provide analysis for open to buy meetings and provide recommendations to maintain stock health - Plan stock in-take with consideration of warehouse receiving and put away capacity - Drive Continuous improvement processes and projects, including forecasting techniques, planning tool developments and enhancements etc. Give input to annual business budgeting process including OTB by category and brand level sales targets for the year KEY REQUIREMENTS Qualifications & Experience - At least 4 years’ relevant retail planning experience - Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration, marketing or a related field Skills & Competencies - Strong technical and analytical approach to solving problems - Highly organised with strong attention to detail - Excellent numerical ability - Thorough understanding of how to use inventory management software - Process minded - Proven commercial instinct - Shows initiative and takes ownership - Ability to adapt quickly to rapidly changing business conditions - Interacts professionally and effectively through verbal and written communication ABOUT US Silvertree Brands builds disruptive purpose-driven consumer and digital brands.
