Job Description: Insurance Agent

Job Location: Pietermaritzburg, South Africa

We are currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Insurance Agent - Back Office. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting the day-to-day operations of our insurance agency, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in various back-office functions.

**Responsibilities**:
Manage and update policy information, ensuring accurate and timely data entry into relevant systems.

Prepare and organize insurance documents, policies, and endorsements with a keen eye for detail.

Communicate effectively with clients, underwriters, and other team members to address inquiries and resolve issues promptly.

Assist in the processing and documentation of insurance claims, maintaining a proactive approach to claim resolution.

Work on renewals processing, ensuring timely renewals and maintaining client relationships.

Handle billing activities, monitor accounts receivable, and support reconciliation processes.

Ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal policies in all back-office activities.

Maintain organized and up-to-date records, both in physical and electronic formats.

Generate and analyze reports related to policy status, renewals, and other relevant metrics.

Work closely with other team members, including agents, underwriters, and administrative staff, to facilitate a seamless workflow.

Skills & Abilities:
Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Familiarity with insurance software, including AMS (Agency Management Systems).

Experience in Healthcare Insurance, Property & Casualty, or Benefits specialization is preferred.

Knowledge of Outlook, Spreadsheet, MS Office, and online insurance platforms.

Qualifications:
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a back-office role within the insurance industry.

Proficiency in using insurance management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.

Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

Knowledge of insurance policies, regulations, and industry practices.

Academic qualification of Graduate/Undergraduate/Diploma/High School with relevant insurance experience.

The working hours are dependent on the client, with potential shifts ranging from 3 pm to 12 am, 5 pm to 3 am, and/or 7 pm to 4 am South African time (SAST). Please note that working hours are based on the US time zone.
