**Job Purpose**

Optimize the entire lifecycle of a product, from its conceptualization and development to its eventual retirement or replacement. This role involves overseeing and coordinating cross-functional teams, ensuring seamless collaboration between departments such as research and development, marketing, manufacturing, and customer support. The Senior Manager in PLM is responsible for implementing and maintaining effective processes and systems to track and manage product information throughout its lifecycle. The Senior Manager must stay abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and customer feedback to make informed decisions that contribute to the strategic development and continuous improvement of products.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**

**Strategic Planning**
- Envision and implement long-term plans that align with organisational goals, market dynamics, and technological advancements.
- Forecast product life cycles, identify market trends, and formulate agile responses to evolving consumer needs.
- Sustain success of products throughout their lifecycle, encompassing product launch, growth, maturity, and eventual decline.

**Cross-Functional Collaboration**
- Have the ability to foster synergies across diverse teams by breaking down silos and promoting seamless communication and collaboration among product development, marketing, sales, and other relevant departments.
- Ensure that cross-functional teams work cohesively, leveraging their unique expertise to optimize each phase of the product lifecycle.
- Cultivate a collaborative culture, enabling swift decision-making, efficient problem-solving, and ultimately contributing to the overall success and adaptability of products in the market.

**Product Development Oversight**
- Guide and optimise the entire product development lifecycle, from conceptualization to launch.
- Align development activities with strategic objectives of the business, manage resources efficiently, and ensure that products meet or exceed quality standards.
- Navigate challenges, mitigate risks, and foster innovation within the development teams.
- Timely delivery of high-quality products, adherence to budgetary constraints, and alignment with market demands.

**Quality Assurance and Lifecycle Optimisation**
- Ability to establish and uphold rigorous quality assurance standards at every stage of product development, from ideation to post-launch support.
- Be proficient in implementing strategies for ongoing lifecycle optimization, adapting products to changing market conditions and customer feedback.

**Market Analysis**
- Be capable to conduct thorough market research, assess consumer needs, and analyse competitive landscapes at various stages of a product's lifecycle.
- Have the ability to make informed decisions, allowing for strategic adjustments to product development, positioning, and marketing strategies.
- Have the ability to anticipate market trends, identify emerging opportunities, and mitigate potential challenges is paramount.
- Impact the organisation's market responsiveness, ensuring that products are not only developed with precision but also aligned with ever-evolving market demands, ultimately contributing to sustained product success and market competitiveness.

**Product Launch and Marketing**
- Proficiency in co-ordinating, developing and executing impactful launch plans, including product positioning, messaging, and channel strategies.
- Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to create and sell compelling campaigns that resonate with target audiences.
- Navigate competitive landscapes, capture consumer attention, and establish a strong market presence for the product.

**Compliance and Regulations**
- Be proficient in navigating complex regulatory landscapes, staying abreast of evolving compliance requirements, and integrating necessary adjustments into the product development and management processes.
- Demonstrate commitment to ethical business practices, thereby safeguarding the organisation's reputation and fostering sustained success in the market.

**Budget Management**
- Create and adhere to budgets for product development, launch, and ongoing support, ensuring optimal resource allocation and cost-effectiveness.
- Meet financial targets, control expenditures, and maximize the return on investment for each phase of the product lifecycle.
- Demonstrate a positive impact on the organisation's fiscal health and have the ability to deliver successful products within defined budgetary constraints, ultimately contributing to sustained profitability and business growth

**Leadership**
- Be an effective inspirational leader to facilitate the creation of motivated, accountable, full-service teams who understand and strive to meet the needs of all stakeholders.
