Bricklayer

**We are looking for qualified bricklayers (with trade certificates) minimum 5 years experience to join our team in the refurbishment of Mthatha Garden Court.**

**1. Reading and Interpreting Plans**
- Studying blueprints, drawings, and construction plans.
- Understanding measurements and specifications to ensure accuracy.

**2. Preparing Worksite and Materials**
- Measuring and marking layouts for brickwork.
- Mixing mortar and other bonding materials.
- Cutting bricks, blocks, or stones to fit the required dimensions.

**3. Laying Bricks and Blocks**
- Laying bricks in horizontal layers and ensuring they are level and aligned.
- Using mortar to bond bricks together.
- Constructing walls, arches, partitions, and other masonry structures.

**4. Repairing and Maintaining Masonry Structures**
- Replacing damaged bricks or blocks.
- Repointing (removing and replacing old mortar).
- Sealing and waterproofing masonry structures.

**5. Using Masonry Tools and Equipment**
- Working with trowels, hammers, chisels, levels, and measuring tapes.
- Operating power tools such as masonry saws and drills.

**6. Ensuring Safety and Compliance**
- Following workplace safety procedures.
- Wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) like gloves, goggles, and helmets.
- Complying with building codes and regulations.

**7. Coordinating with Other Construction Workers**
- Working alongside carpenters, electricians, and plumbers.
- Communicating with site supervisors and project managers

**Job Type**: Temporary
Contract length: 4 months

Pay: Up to R14 000,00 per month
