About the role

The Senior Data Analyst reports into the Group CFO and leads the BI department who is responsible to report on performance and assist with business insight or supply information, through frequent routines and Ad hoc tasks, to internal and external stakeholders of all levels and all departmental functions within a Group of Companies.

**Key performance areas**

**Strategic focus**:Should be able to plan and implement long-term projects which will develop, maintain and sustain current and new processes and tools, in order to best enable the BI department to serve the Group of Companies and assist internal stakeholders in achieving their daily tasks.

**Operational focus**:Manage and ensure the BI department’s daily, weekly, monthly and annual reporting routines are executed timely and successfully.Troubleshoot, resolve, and communicate any nuances that may hinder the daily, weekly, monthly and annual reporting routines.Take-on, plan, execute or delegate and finalise Ad hoc analysis or reporting tasks.While the incumbent will deal with stakeholders of all levels, the incumbent will mostly work closely with Group Senior Management and should be able to manage expectations realistically and communicate effectively in a respectful manner.Manage, lead and mentor the BI team who serves the Group of Companies.Ensure the BI team and the incumbent self, stay abreast with operations and new developments within the Group of Companies.

Project based focus:Plan and develop Power BI dashboards, back to front-end, that will operate effectively and efficiently to communicate meaningful indicators to stakeholders.

**Qualifications and experience**

**Required**:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting / Business management / Economics / Econometrics / Financial management / Statistics or any quantitative discipline coupled with commerce (non-negotiable).5+ years Data analytics experience (non-negotiable).
Numerical and business acumen (non-negotiable).
Proficient in Excel, SQL, Power BI desktop and Power BI service.
Microsoft services (Excel, OneDrive, Outlook, Power BI, PowerPoint, Power Query, SharePoint, SQL, Teams and Word) Experience in a retail or wholesale business environment.

**Beneficial**:
Data analytics certification, VBA, SSRS.

Nice to have: Python or R
