We are in the market for a **Senior API Technical Writer **who is looking to work on cutting edge public key infrastructure projects, post-quantum cryptography solutions, IoT security, and more.

In this role you will document APIs, improve our API design, perform light testing, maintain site excellence and consistency, and master our API offerings.

**_ This position is based in Cape Town._**

**WHAT YOU WILL DO**:

- Create API reference documentation, best-practice workflows, integration guides, and examples
- Empathize with your developer community and do your best to anticipate their needs
- Iterate and collaborate: draft, ask, test, fail, and improve
- Follow your curiosity to learn more about our APIs and the people who consume them
- Understand mínimalist writing and have a tight writing style
- Self-edit and maintain high standards for your output
- Juggle deliverables for multiple teams across international time zones
- Lead by example to inspire your peers to always create new and better products

**WHAT YOU HAVE**:

- 3+ years of experience working as API Technical Writer
- Tertiary qualification
- High comfort with REST and RESTful conventions
- Ability to use HTTP clients like Postman to research and test API queries
- Experience crafting and maintaining example code in languages like cURL, Python, Go, or NodeJS
- Entrepreneurial, motivated, proactive, and a self-starter traits
- Excellent communication skills
- Prepared to have some fun
- Read and understand source code (advantageous)
- Can work with Docker Containers and local developer environments (advantageous)
- Can use IDEs (PhpStorm, PyCharm, etc.) to set up local environments (advantageous)
- Experience writing code or working as a developer (advantageous)
- Experience working with OpenAPI/SwaggerUI (advantageous)
