**Key roles and responsibilities**:
Lecturing (with specific focus on Private Law and/or Mercantile Law and/or Customary Law).
Assessment and moderation.
Development of study material.
Academic administration and other delegated duties.
Academic leadership.
Research.
Participation in the coordination and management of modules
Marking assignments and exam papers.
Using the Learning Management System (LMS).
Minimum requirements
At least a South African LLM degree in the relevant field (or a closely related field).
**Expertise in the relevant field**: Private Law and/or Mercantile Law and/or Philosophy and/or Customary Law.
Relevant teaching experience in higher education.
Good knowledge of Canvas as an online learning management system/tool.
Good knowledge of legal databases such as Sabinet and JutaStat.
A basic research track record.
**Qualifications and experience**:
At least a South African LLM degree in the relevant field (or a closely related field)
**Recommended**: An underlying BA Law qualification with expertise in the field of Philosophy

Good verbal and written communication skills.
Presentation and facilitation skills.
Computer literacy and e-learning skills.
Planning and organising skills.
Knowledge and skills in the relevant field, learning and teaching, research, community engagement and academic leadership.
Willingness to expand knowledge in various fields of law and to teach in more than one field of the law
Willingness to work after hours.
Willingness to work across different modes of teaching and learning.
