Assistant Cleaner/toddler Teacher

**Purpose of role**

Assisting with the growth, development and overall well-being of children in the infant class as well as assisting with the cleaning the school.

**Responsibilities**

**Cleaning duties**
- Assist with the overall hygiene and cleanliness of the school in line with health and safety regulations
- Clean all areas of the school on a daily basis
- Ensure that the toys and classrooms are sanitized on a regular basis

**Assistant infant teacher duties**
- Assist infant teacher with all caring and educational responsibilities for children while at school, including nappy-changing, feeding and educational activities.
- Promote feelings of security and trust in children through maintaining a safe and caring environment.
- Become familiar with each child's schedule, and be comfortable with multiple infant feeding and sleeping routines.
- Participate in professional development sessions with colleagues.
- Reflect on your work regularly, leading your personal growth strategy.
- Other responsibilities as necessary.
- Note: this is a physically challenging role and requires the teacher to stand for large portions of the day, carry babies and toddlers, bend, run, sit on the floor, participate in playground activities, and generally play with the children._

**Qualifications**
- Relevant Early Childhood Development qualification (NQF 4+ or studying towards)
- Clear criminal record

**Experience**
- 2 years experience working with infants in a caregiving or similar role / cleaning in a preschool environment
