**Main purpose of the job**

The incumbents will focus on facility governance, Infection Prevention and Control, Quality Improvement cycles and cascade improvement to embed sustainability and strengthen Department of Health systems.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Provide technical assistance and mentorship to the District Department of Health on facility governance and IPC.
- Participate in facility and sub-district meetings on Health Systems Strengthening.
- Lead Quality Improvement including conducting site visits and performing assessments to evaluate progress achieved in implementation of project plans.
- Support the development and implementation of Transition Readiness Tools and Assessments.
- Facilitate knowledge transfer to District Management Teams and support OP Nerve Centres.
- Ensure that all project reports are completed and submitted in accordance with work-plans and donor requirements.
- Participate in strategic meetings with Embedded District Support Teams and Multi-Disciplinary Teams and other stakeholders.
- Identify topics for case studies and success stories, and support staff in developing these outputs.
- Conduct facility profiles and staff skills audits

**Minimum Qualifications and Experience**
- Diploma in Nursing or Equivalent
- 4 years’ experience in primary health care
- Management experience and proven project management abilities in the design, administration, management and implementation of public health programmes, including supervision of staff and reporting
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel

**Desirable additional education, work experience and personal abilities**
- Experience in donor funded organisation and with PEPFAR.
- A good understanding of the South African public health system, including national and provincial health policies and management structures.
- Skills to build and maintain relationships with multiple stakeholders
- Excellent facilitation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Ability to work with mínimal supervision and to be deadline-driven
