Group Specialist: Energy Security

The successful applicant will report into the Group Lead: Energy Optimisation and Security.

The Group Specialist: Energy Security is a specialist who plays a leading role across all Country Operations in ensuring consistent, high-quality energy is available to our operations, as well as shifting the mix of energy used to renewable sources.

Internally, they will codify the strategy execution by:
Standardising risk management tools

Driving deployment of Coca Cola toolkits & best practices

Creating Knowledge management frameworks & governance systems and

Creating a robust framework of engineering standards & operating procedures

They will be instrumental in the initiation and execution /construction of:
Sustainable Power Purchase Agreements and

Company owned backup and or sustainable energy supply systems.

Network analysis of municipal grids and risk mitigation in partnership with utility providers.

**Key Duties & Responsibilities**:
Understanding the impact of the changing energy supply landscape and climate change on our operations.

Conducting a market analysis of each country, understanding how to procure, trade, work with municipalities and utility providers with regards to energy supply.

Understand the opportunities of energy storage systems within CCBA operations.

Acting as an internal consultant and providing advice to the business and decision makers on the topic.

Maintaining a network of peers and building alliances with external counterparts and communities of practices to exchange knowledge and ideas on emerging trends and innovations.

Set and agree annual and long-term green energy usage targets for all CCBA Operations to ensure that CCBA meets its 2030 Carbon Reduction Target.

Establish a Strategy incorporating Policies and a RoadMap to shift CCBA's energy mix to Greener Sources, incorporating the latest technology in Sustainable Generation and Storage concepts, and leveraging a mix of self-owned assets and Power Purchase Agreements.

Defining the strategy, policy frameworks, practices and engineering standards required in the business to reduce energy supply risk. This will cover in-house distribution infrastructure, self-generation infrastructure and grid optimisation tactics.

Conduct structured plant visits and reviews to identify risks and opportunities, coach plant engineering staff and maintain relevance of the strategy.

Define and drive a process to ensure energy availability Business Continuity Plans cover site generators & fuel storage systems, alternative municipal power feeds and MV infrastructure health.

Define the maintenance standards required for critical energy infrastructure to deliver compliance and reliability.

Understand key energy usage processes within the operations and deploy short interval and process controls to ensure optimal performance is maintained.

Help plants construct short and long terms strategies to improve Energy Usage Ratio's by using the TCCC toolkit, implementing new technology and instilling operational controls within the ambit of electricity generation and distribution.

Acting as point of escalation for issues and problems that cannot be resolved by in-country teams themselves.

Establishing contracts and billing mechanisms with Electricity Providers to enable Wheeling, Net Metering or Sale of excess energy to the grid to increase Self Generation from Green Energy.

Identifying partners and providers of appropriate technology and work with them, and the country resources to co-create executable solutions and business cases.

Defining and scoping the deliverables and engineering details of projects.

Working with Procurement to technically assess, negotiate and agree contracts including the deliverables, terms, and conditions.

Establishing and maintaining relationships with key vendors.

Ensuring that the new technology is developed and contracted in such a way that the new technology can be scaled up and rolled out across CCBA.

Acting as a project / program manager for the large-scale deployment of initiatives and collaborating with colleagues in country to manage projects.
