Jnr/mid Ecommerce Buyer

**We are on the hunt for an Ecommerce Buyer to join our expanding team in Cape Town.**

You will be responsible for managing a number of supplier relationships and sales campaigns. Working with our Supply Team to select new products and review existing items to ensure a proper product mix and balanced availability flow. Merchandising factors include customer demand, market trends, product availability, product flow, and pricing strategy.

In order to succeed in this role, you need to be self-motivated, thrive under pressure, have a keen eye for detail and excellent multitasking skills.

**Responsibilities**:

- Collaborate with the Supply Team to strategically build balanced range assortments for the customer.
- Sign, build and maintain partnerships with the world’s best brands aligned to the customer strategy and ensure we get best price, great value offers and exclusive ranges.
- Work closely with suppliers to ensure stock is delivered to the warehouse on time, packaged correctly and as cost effectively as possible.
- Monitor stock, sales, margin and assortment to ensure delivery of KPI’s - systematically introducing promotions, sales, price changes, etc.
- Trade your range in-season through consistent analysis and interpretation of data to drive sell-through and reduce markdown.
- Analyzing past sales figures and current trends to anticipate future product needs and devise a merchandise plan
- Continuously contribute toward innovation in the department

**Experience**:

- 2+ years of experience working as a Buyer or Merchandiser
- Completed degree preferred. In the absence of degree, additional and relevant work experience must be demonstrated
- E-Commerce or retail experience preferred - familiarity with eCommerce buying and merchandising
- Experience in working within a fashion/branded environment preferred
- Displays high degree of retail math proficiency. Applies financial reasoning and concepts to daily operations to consistently drive sales.
- Displays strong financial, strategic, planning, merchandising, negotiation and relationship building skills.
- Demonstrates forward thinking including ability to identify and initiate new business through trend spotting, analysis, proactive goal setting and execution.
