We are hiring a compassionate social worker to join our team in Southern Johannesburg. As a social worker, you will be assisting clients who are affected by issues such as neglect, child abuse, domestic violence, mental health, and parental substance abuse. In this role will involve assessing clients and gathering relevant information about their cases, providing crisis intervention, and making referrals to other agencies and services. You will be handling cases both in person and over the phone, so excellent communication skills are a must.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or related field.
- Licensed clinical social worker.
- Ability to give full attention to what social service clients are saying, understand the points being made, ask questions, and not interrupt inappropriately.
- Experience working with clients that are affected by issues including neglect, child abuse, domestic violence, mental health, and parental substance abuse.
- Component in computer literacy
- Experience in a hospital environment (**Advantage**)
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills.

**Key Outputs**:

- Assisting clients in receiving services both over the telephone and in person.
- Get clients involved in beneficial activities that can improve their overall wellbeing.
- Provide crisis intervention.
- Assessing and gathering relevant information about clients is crucial in order to provide appropriate support and resources.
- Offer information and support to both clients and their families, and make referrals to other agencies and services when necessary.
- Maintaining accurate records and preparing reports is an important part of my job, as is participating in ongoing training, supervision, and meetings.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Temporary

**Salary**: R104.16 - R154.50 per hour
