The role in logistics entails handling the movement and storage of supplies in the company. This person must predict how much inventory will be needed and when it will be needed in order to meet the expectations of both the company and the customers.
Managing stock entails overseeing a business’s inventory. This person must track and monitor inventory and develop processes to maximise efficiency. Your typical duties include creating inventory plans, organising distribution, and negotiating new contracts with suppliers.
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Monitoring the company stock (eg, meters, CIUs)
- Performing physical inventory counts periodically to ensure the data records match the actual inventory levels
- Creating purchase order lists to replenish stock
- Collecting and analysing historical data to forecast demand for different products
- Dispatching clients’ orders
- Coordinating and controlling the order cycle of deliveries and ensuring that they are in the right place, at the right time
- Evaluating the dispatching process and the quality of the performance of previous deliveries and assessing how they can be improved
- Generate reports to provide weekly statistics on dispatching of stock

- Coordination with sales, production and Senior Management to streamline the inventory management process
- Supervising, managing, and training employees on the team

- Must be adept at handling concerns and negotiating with clients to maintain relationships
- Time management skills - be able to manage your time and delivery of stock, ensuring to meet deadlines
ADDITIONAL: It is important that the person has a valid driver’s licence and their own transport, or reliable transport to be able to get to work. Working hours are Monday-Friday, 07:00-16:00. There will however be times when you will need to work beyond these hours in order to meet deadlines, or receive a delivery, or dispatch items.
