**Position Title**: Cleaner
**Department**: Facilities Management
**Reports to**: Facilities Supervisor
**Purpose of the Role**
The Cleaner will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic environment across all designated areas of the organisation. The role requires attention to detail, consistency, and the ability to follow cleaning schedules to ensure that offices, restrooms, and common areas meet health and safety standards.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Perform daily cleaning of offices, kitchens, restrooms, corridors, and meeting rooms.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors.
- Empty waste bins and ensure proper disposal of rubbish.
- Refill soap dispensers, toilet paper, and other consumables.
- Wipe down desks, furniture, windows, and other surfaces.
- Report any maintenance issues (leaks, broken items, hazards) to the supervisor.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations, including correct use of cleaning chemicals and PPE.
- Assist during company events by ensuring cleanliness before and after activities.
- Maintain cleaning equipment in good working condition.
**Key Requirements**
- Minimum Grade 10 (Matric will be an advantage).
- A recognised Cleaning Qualification will be an added advantage.
- At least 1-2 years of cleaning experience in an office or industrial environment.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, materials, and equipment.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
- Good communication skills.
- Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks.
- Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy.
