- Reports To: Managing Director Direct Reports: HODs in Engineering, Maintenance, Facilities & Utilities, Projects as well as identified engineering/ project professionals, where required- The purpose of the Executive:Engineering is to provide strategic direction and direct operations in Engineering, Maintenance, Facilities, Utilities, Maintenance Planning and Projects. Furthermore, to put in place, maintain effective management systems and processes including engineering management systems, inspection management systems, maintenance systems & processes. As well as long term planning of assets & facilities and to build enduring capability.- Key Responsibilities:
- The Executive: Engineering is responsible to provide leadership, strategic direction, direct operations and ensure regulatory compliance in Engineering, Maintenance, Facilities, Utilities, Maintenance Planning and Projects.- Ensure safe, reliable operations, practices and compliance with OHS Act, all associated regulations including General Machinery regulations and Construction regulations, as well as internal policies and procedures.- Put in place and ensure effectiveness of management systems & processes to comply with all relevant regulations and statutory requirements.- Put in place, ensure the effectiveness of Engineering and Inspection management systems & processes, in order to deliver asset integrity and legal compliance.- Implement and maintain an operational risk management strategy in accordance with the company's risk management framework. Continuous improvement and ensure the ISO certifications are maintained.- Ensure effective Maintenance management systems and processes to deliver reliability of the plant, utilities and facilities.- Implement Reliability Centred maintenance and develop effective maintenance strategies.- Ensure Defect Elimination and Vulnerability studies are conducted as part of asset and infrastructure strategy.- Maintenance execution and effective preventative maintenance on the Plant, Utilities, Facilities and the Infrastructure.- Put in place effective Self Verification processes.- Ensure equipment availability and reliability to meet set targets in support of the Company strategy.- Maintenance Planning and execution for Plant, Utilities, Facilities and infrastructure.- Continuous improvement in Spares philosophy.- Put in place effective Inspection Data Management System, dashboard and alerts.- Build maintenance capability for the company's specific machines utilities, facilities and infrastructure in line with the Original Equipment Manufacturer requirements and engineering practices.- Build and ensure Continuous Improvement Project on Project Processes and Management systems, Governance and Controls.- Develop in-house capability to flawlessly executive major projects.- Build enduring technical organisational capability.- Provide Board reports.- Develop and manage the budget for the department in support of the strategic objectives of the company.- Manage the performance, people development and recruitment of staff in the department and ensure a competent, engaged and multi-skilled workforce.- Develop and Implement Long Term Strategic Planning and execution including Asset Master planning for Plant, Utilities, Facilities and the Infrastructure.- Build enduring Capability in Engineering, Maintenance, Facilities, Utilities, Maintenance Planning, Infrastructure management and Projects-
**Inherent Requirements**
- The relevant Engineering degree- A Government Certificate of Competency (GCC) will be an advantage.- A Postgraduate qualification in Business Management or Engineering is an advantage- 15 years’ experience in Engineering, Inspection, Maintenance and Projects of which 3 years in an executive role.**What Qualification**
