**Job Description**:
Accountability: Development and review of Wholesale and fundamental Credit Risk Analysis and Methodologies for CIB and BB
- Ensure international best practices with regards to wholesale and fundamental credit risk analysis are customised and implemented across asset classes in the Group.
- Ensure that an appropriate Credit Risk training program is in place to achieve the above outcome.
- Continuously review and monitor the quality of credit analysis and ensure alignment to international best practice.
- Proactively embed agreed change management initiatives in support of related processes & continuous improvements thereof.
- Drive synergies and harmonise credit risk analysis best practices across asset classes in the Group.

Accountability: Lead the group credit risk policy function
- The Credit risk Policy Function that is responsible for the Credit Risk Management Framework (CRMF) and associated policies will report to the incumbent. This function is responsible for:

- Continuous improvement of the CRMF
- Management of the credit hind-sighting and sampling process

Accountability: General assistance provided to the CCO
- Review and recommend updates to various credit mandates across the group.
- Assist with the development (in collaboration with group sustainability risk as well as the various business units) and embedding ESG methodologies and approaches
- Assist the CCO and Credit Portfolio Management team to identify emerging credit risks for evaluation.

Committee attendance.

The incumbent will attend the following committees to fulfil an independent oversight role:

- Absa Corporate Credit Committee
- ARO CIB and BB credit committees on an ad-hoc basis
- Relationship banking credit committee
- CIB Credit Risk Management Committee
- Portfolio Quality Review process to ensure that the process operates effectively and that there is appropriate portfolio reporting at each business unit.

In addition, the incumbent will attend the following committees:

- Absa Group Credit Committee
- Absa Group Credit Risk Committee (Board Committee)

Accountability: Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and maintain effective and strategic relationships and networks.
- Be a thought leader in fundamental credit analysis.

Education

Bachelor's Degrees and Advanced Diplomas: Business, Commerce and Management Studies (required)
