The Transport Planner is responsible for making the daily depot replenishment plan to the depot network with optimal cost-service trade-offs. The Transport Planner is responsible for improving the secondary depot demand and supply planning processes to meet customer demand at the desired service level and optimal cost.
- Safety & Sustainability: Act in accordance with the safety regulations; Report accidents, incidents, near misses, unsafe conditions, and behaviours. Stimulate an open environment where safety is put first, by sharing safety concerns, acting as an example, and addressing each other on safety.
- Logistics Cost Management: Support the Transport Manager where necessary by providing data and insights about shipment cost
- Transport Tenders: If required, support the tender process by providing information and data on shipments and LSP performance
- LSP Management: If required, support the Transport Manager with information on LSP performance. Where applicable work with the LSPs to improve key KPIs or collaborate on joint initiatives
- TPM & Continuous Improvement: Make deployments of activities in scope and suggest improvements in safety, processes, and assets
- Provide input for DCS
- Generating Depot Replenishment Transportation Load Plan that meets the Customer Service requirement
- Execute the physical transportation according to plan, monitor variations, and adjust accordingly
- Report transportation performance in a timely and accurate manner
- Manage and monitor product availability on depot level to minimize stock outs and improve CFR
- Maintaining the correct stock levels in the network
- Manage and monitor Depot RPM circulation time and optimize depot returns process
- Facilitate the administration functions for the execution of the shipment plan
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Transportation management, or related qualification
- 3-5 years in warehousing/logistics/planning environment
- Microsoft Office package proficiency
- ERP (SAP will be advantageous)
- Futurmaster (will be advantageous)
