System Administrator: Pl Underwriting External

What will you do?

Santam’s Underwriting and Reinsurance department has a position available in its Personal Lines Underwriting Systems department for a Systems Administrator (External Systems) who will be based in Bellville. What will make you successful in this role?

This position calls for a high-calibre individual whose responsibilities will include the following amongst others:
Design, Test and Implement the Santam Personal Line products on External Systems.
Management and upkeep of Personal lines systems and processes
e.g. rating and excess tables, security measures, renewal processes and other life cycle events.
General administrative duties and project management.
Query and escalation management.
Some level of travelling will be required for the purpose of managing project delivery and stakeholder relationships. Qualification and Experience

Minimum Grade 12
FAIS compliant (30 credits on NQF level 4 - Personal Lines)
Good understanding of Santam’s Personal Lines business (including PolicyCenter)
3 - 5 years’ experience with regards to short term insurance underwriting (Preferably Personal Lines)
Intermediate to Advanced level of understanding and working knowledge in MS Office
Experience in third party insurance systems, products and set-up
Experience in project management principles and methods

Must be results orientated, deadline driven and a self-starter
Ability to work independently and operate under pressure
Good analytical and problem solving skills and abilities
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English (required) and Afrikaans (advantageous)
Natural and keen interest in technical set-up’s and infrastructure technology (thus how the back-end operates that supports user interfaces)
Short term insurance product and underwriting knowledge (Preferably Personal Lines)
Knowledge of general insurance and industry principles
Working knowledge of MS Office and any other ticket and workflow management system
In-depth knowledge of Santam’s in-house insurance systems (Preferably Personal Lines)
Working Knowledge of any external 3rd party short term insurance system
Working knowledge of Jira Service desk, Confluence, Automation testing principles
