**Job Description**:
What you’ll do:

- Actively assist with planning and deployment of projects in the team
- Proactively manage the environment and reduce risks with regard to security and support contracts
- Ensure general housekeeping is done
- Manage team tasks and ensure timeous completion with communication to the requestor
- Ensure that production issues are kept to a minimum and expedite hotfixes, updates etc. where needed.
- Ensure monthly patches are deployed to the environment and reported on. Also ensure the team addresses other vulnerabilities timeously depending on the risk it poses to our environment
- Take ownership of the environment
- Develop people through regular coaching, mentoring and feedback
- Grow the technical expertise of your team based on the company needs and direction
- Foster inclusive teams in which people are empowered to do the best work of their careers
- Help with establishing and advocating the best engineering practices across the organization
- Work within budgets and motivate where additional spend is required
- Take guidance from the Technical project leads and find pragmatic implementations of the recommendations
- Support timely delivery of solutions to address business needs and take responsibility of the teams’ delivery
- Facilitate collaboration with other engineers, product owners and teams to solve interesting and challenging problems across the organization
- Facilitate blame-free root cause analysis of major product failures and take learnings thereof
- Updating and maintaining proper documentation for the environments
- Manage Adhoc requests
- Find ways to automate requests and free up time for the team
- Implement processes and procedures to ensure effective administration occurs
- Provide reports and updates to management

**Qualifications**:

- Your previous experience includes a generalist role with focus on the Microsoft stack
- You have a good all round understanding of how an environment should be setup to ensure minimum risk to the organisation, whether that is due to outage, license breach or security.
