Our client who has been providing excellence for more than 30 years currently has an opportunity for an Electrical Site Technician who has 5 years working experience together with a Trade Test plus a National Diploma or N6 in electrical.

Position details:
Electrical site commissioning function with expert knowledge and fault-finding capacity
Able to commission instrumentation, PLC and protection relays from multiple different brands and providers.
On site electrical maintenance of equipment including MV switchgear, LV Switchgear and other electrical equipment
Medium term (+-4 weeks) live out electrical site supervision and sub-contractor coordination
Capable and experienced in MV terminations and testing up to 22kV
Experienced in LV and communication cable terminations.
On site quality control and documentation
Manages projects, perform design work and participate in project teams
Carry out investigations into operational problems and ensure recommendations are for purpose
Commissioning new plants were required
Manage the Electrical/Instrument drawings as per drawing office procedures
Ability to read drawings and create sketches
Demonstrate problem solving skills
Ability to organize his/her own time

Job Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
Matric qualifications
5 years relevant working experience
Trade Test plus National Diploma or N6 in electrical
Ability to meet deadlines and work effectively under pressure
Ability to work long hours and overtime when required
Must have good time keeping skills and be punctual
Must be able to do multi-tasking well
Must not have a criminal record or case pending, and must qualify for security clearance and medicals/inductions at all mines
Must be prepared to use same for business travel locally and across the border (neighboring countries). Including comply with local travel requirements with regards to vaccination
A three-month probation (evaluation) period will apply
Certified multi-disciplinary qualification
Advance Microsoft Office skills
Understand mechanical components for SLD’s
Understand architectural components for SLD’s
Working knowledge MSOffice - MSWord, Excel, Mail
