**Your Role**: An exciting opportunity has opened up within our company. We are looking to hire a Medical Manager for the Cardiology, Metabolism and Endocrine therapeutic areas (TA) based in South Africa, for the South African affiliate. As a Medical Manager, you will be in a senior role and have the following core responsibilities: you will act as a Local Medical Affairs TA expert in this portfolio, co-leading the Local TA launch and brand strategies and leading the Medical Affairs Tactics. You will lead Medical Affairs activities in the assigned territory according to the Medical strategies. This is currently an expert role, however, you may manage a team of Medical experts as the portfolio grows. You will develop and roll out Medical education materials, review marketing material, conduct internal/external medical training, and ensure scientific and clinical accuracy for specific products or brands. You will lead/provide medical support (depending on the nature of study) for clinical trials, and the local publication process, assist to coordinate Local clinical projects and contribute to site selection for clinical projects. You will be responsible for managing the TA budget whilst assisting with the enhancement of medical education through scientific interactions and by executing Medical educational programs with HCPs and patient key thought leaders within the TA.

**Who you are**:

- You take initiative and are passionate about enhancing medical education and patient care in South Africa
- You have a University degree (Bachelor's), preferably in the scientific field of relevance to the position, with a secondary/sophisticated scientific degree (e.g., PharmD, PhD, DO, MD, MBChB)
- Scientific and/or clinical training in areas of relevance to the position is strongly preferred
- Another advanced degree (non-scientific) and/or business degree/training is helpful
- You have substantial professional, clinical or research experience in a scientific or related field (minimum of 5 years)
- You have been an MSL, Medical Advisor / Manager or have related pharmaceutical experience within the Medical Affairs division
- You have an understanding of the compliance, regulatory, commercial and clinical issues affecting the pharmaceutical industry
- You have knowledge and experience in the methodology of clinical research and Good Clinical Practice
- You are proficient in English and with using digital communication channels / Microsoft software
- You have a valid driver's license and are willing to travel nationally and internationally
