This role focuses on the complex and constantly evolving emerging and change risk landscape, ensuring robust and appropriate risk management strategies, tools, methodologies are in place and adequate measuring and reporting on material risk exposures and mitigation to ensure the organisation’s performance against it’s long term strategy.

Are you someone who can:

- Define and implement internal risk processes and procedures to support the Group Non-Financial Risk strategy and frameworks on Change and New/Emerging Risks.
- Design and setup the reporting and analysis capability to support the above.
- Identify requirements to enhance risk management and maturity within the organisation focusing on proactive measures and innovation.
- Contribute to the development of the overall risk management tools, monitor effectiveness and embedment of implementation of new and applicable risk assessments within the organisation and provide guidance to Segments.
- Work with Segments to understand the business, drivers, current concerns and future plans to mitigate risk to proactively identify and anticipate risks (including emerging risks)
- Identify, manage and mitigate interconnected / interdependency risks and provide relevant information to business and risk teams to appropriately manage and mitigate risk
- Keep abreast of relevant risk developments externally and ensure it is considered in the risk profile for the business
- Highlight risk areas through root cause analysis, monitor action plans and escalate issues.
- Ensure comprehensive risk assessments are conducted to manage the risks within the approved risk appetite.
- Create an enabling environment for active risk reduction by reviewing and monitoring the key risk indicators (KRIs), and the control environment to ensure risks are managed within risk appetite.
- Interact and engage across risk types to understand and assess the impact of change and emerging risk/s to the overall risk landscape e.g. Vendor Risk, Resilience and Data risk.
- Assist with preparation and analysis of reports for tabling at various Risk Committees
- Drive a combined assurance approach to risk management by engaging specialists and other assurance partners on key risks matters and conducting assurance engagements where applicable.
- Develop and manage key stakeholder relationships that enable achievement of operational objectives.
- Take all necessary actions to ensure compliance with relevant statutory, legislative, policy and governance requirements in area of accountability.
- Ensure implementation of relevant policies, governance and practice standards across the business.
- BCom Degree / Business Science or relevant Finance qualification
- 5 Years experience in Operational Risk Management. Exposure or Passion for projects/programmes, 3rd party risk, vendor risk management will be advantageous.
