**Introduction**
Our Client, a leader in the Retail Industry, seeks to appoint an experienced Cashier to join their dynamic. Applicants must reside in the Pietermaritzburg area.

**Duties & Responsibilities**
Accurately record transactions on POS and follow all cash handling procedures.
Accurately and swiftly collect proper payment and provide proper change if required.
Check prices and be knowledgeable about the location of items in the canteen.
Utilize and maintain payment equipment as required.
Report any equipment problems immediately.
Maintain a clean, neat, organised, and safe work environment.
Greet all customers and provide them with prompt, courteous service and assistance.
Work cooperatively with others.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Scan goods and ensure pricing is accurate.
Collect payments whether in cash or credit.
Track transactions on balance sheets.

**Desired Experience & Qualification**
Must have Grade 12 (Twelve).
Must be able to perform basic Maths.
Proficiently read, write, speak, analyze, interpret and understand English language.
Must be able to stand and or walk for the duration of scheduled shift.
Interact with customers in a friendly and helpful way.
Must be able to work all assigned work shifts and comply with time and attendance policies.
Work overtime if required.
Clear criminal record.
