**Procurement Specialist - Construction & QS**

**What is the job**:
As a **Procurement Specialist**, your primary responsibility is to manage the procurement process for construction projects. This includes tendering, sourcing, negotiating, and contracting with suppliers and vendors to acquire materials, equipment, and services necessary for construction (remodel and new build) projects. You'll collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure that procurement decisions align with project requirements and quality expectations. Compliance with relevant regulations, policies, and industry standards is essential in procurement, and you'll navigate legal and regulatory requirements related to construction procurement while mitigating risks associated with procurement activities.

**What will be expected of you?**
- **Cost Savings**: Measure money saved through effective negotiation and procurement strategies compared to budgeted costs or market rates.
- ** Supplier Performance**: Evaluate on-time delivery, material/service quality, contract adherence, and issue responsiveness.
- ** Procurement Cycle Time**: Monitor time from requisition to contract finalization for operational efficiency.
- ** Quality Assurance**: Track compliance with quality standards and identify defects.
- ** Contract Compliance**: Assess supplier adherence to contract terms.
- ** Inventory Management**: Optimize inventory costs and availability for construction materials.
- ** Cost Overruns**: Identify areas for cost estimation improvement.
- ** Risk Management**: Address potential risks related to suppliers, market conditions, or project requirements.
- ** Stakeholder Satisfaction**: Gather feedback from internal and external stakeholders.
- ** Compliance Adherence**: Monitor adherence to relevant regulations and policies.

**Are you qualified?**
- Advanced Diploma or bachelor's degree in Procurement/Cips Level 4

**Did you do this before?**
- Construction building and or quantity surveying. Procurement, tender adjudication of new builds/remodels, compliance.

**Do you have what it takes?**
- **Construction Industry Knowledge**: Understand construction processes, materials, and regulations, including building codes and industry standards.
- ** Quantity Surveying Skills**: Proficiency in cost estimation, control, and bill of quantities preparation.
- ** Procurement Expertise**: Knowledge of sourcing, negotiation, and supplier management.
- ** Contract Management**: Draft, review, and negotiate contracts compliant with project requirements.
- ** Financial Acumen**: Analyze costs, budgets, pricing, and cost-saving opportunities.
- ** Negotiation Skills**: Secure favorable terms while maintaining positive relationships.
- **Project Management**: Coordinate procurement activities and ensure timely delivery.
