Our client based in the Cato-Ridge area is seeking an Operations Manager (with the intention to elevate to a directorship at a later stage).

Substantial experience in a similar role is required and duties are as follows:

- All aspects of procurement from mines and transporters including regular visits and relationship management
- Negotiations of contracts from service providers including payment terms and pricing
- Management of the depot function incl outbound logistics improvements, quality management
- Management of the logistics function eg PO raised timeously and correctly, risk management, knowledge of import and export,
- HR as related to above
- Credits and claims negotiations
- Innovation within the role
- Innovation through the use of IT eg CRM
- Reporting to the Board
- Reporting to the MD
- Maximisation of BEE service providers incl knowledge of scorecard
- Stock purchases in line with cashflow requirements incl different stock replenishment models
- Defining strategy for procurement such as cost saving, development of staff and new opportunities on the market
- Vendor performance assessment
