Employee Relations Manager

**Requirements**:
- Identify, develop and implement appropriate processes to enhance staff engagement, motivation and transformation; thereby addressing and reducing areas of conflict.
- Assist and alert business with IR /ER related matters and take appropriate measures to ensure that correct procedures are followed and risks minimized.
- Hold line managers and employees accountable in living the Company Values, Customer Care and Service.
- To Engage and provide advice and support to business on IR related issues like misconduct, grievances, retrenchment and incapacity /poor performance, encompassing inter alia suspensions, disciplinary charge formulation, procedural, substantial and administrative requirements.
- Facilitation of the processes and procedures in Industrial Relations cases such as:
- Representing RISA in external dispute resolution with Unions and CCM.
- Delivery of specialist IR coaching and training to line managers.
- Provide expert advice or participate as and when required in various Employee/Industrial Relations related policy reviews and interventions within the business, e.g. Employment Equity and Skills Development Reports.
- Identifying IR trends and analysis reports to the HR Director and exco in order to pro-actively implement suitable interventions to limit risks to RISA.
- Establish Employee/Management Forums to build relationships through facilitating and chairing regular meetings with line managers, shop-stewards and unions as and when required.
- Ensures that all IR/ER cases are logged, monitored and tracked to finalization within policy timelines.
- Develop and build communications channels to enhance trust and relationships.
- Keep abreast of new laws and changes to labour legislation to identify/minimise negative impact to RISA
- Secure favourable relations with Unions.
- Support effective on-boarding and Induction programs across RISA.
- Support the HR agenda in RISA.
SKILLS and COMPETENCIES
- Valid unendorsed Code 8/10 drivers licence.
- Computer literate - Word, Excel, Powerpoint
- Excellent numeracy skills
- Extensive travel required
- Behaviours aligned with the values of Service, Relationships and Teamwork
- High energy level / self motivated
- High integrity / disciplined / structured
- Highly developed communication skills (written / verbal / non-verbal)
- Ability to manage conflict using collaborative and persuasive / negotiation skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills to build beneficial relations across all work level internally and externally
