SUMMARY OF THE ROLE

To ensure Validation activities are completed to support the CAPEX plan, Site Validation Master Plan, strategic imperatives and improve cost effectiveness

Drive continuous improvement of Validation processes in their area of responsibility

Leads and is responsible for Validation activities in Elandsfontein factory and EMOs

SCOPE / DIMENSIONS OF ROLE

Maintains the current Validation status and ensures CAPEX projects are delivered with the latest Validation standards

Works cross-functionally to pro-actively ensure that Validation Impact is considered when making changes

Ensures a consistent approach is adopted for all Validation related activities by coaching, supporting and leading by example

RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES

To lead and coordinate Validation activities across the site, providing clear evidence of status

Works closely with the Engineering, Quality and Technical Managers to have full working knowledge of the CAPEX Plan and Site Validation Master Plan

To initiate and implement Validation improvements in the areas of cost, quality and customer service

To support the EMOs by providing Validation support as required.

To ensure that the company’s strategic imperatives as they relate to the Validation are implemented

Management of projects within budgets and deadlines to ensure implementation of supply\Validation strategy

Supports the Site with respect to Validation activities when the Validation Manager is off-site

Leads audit inspections with respect to equipment, cleaning and facilities validation and ensures the site is audit ready in Elandsfontein at all times

Participate in EMOs and new equipment/process qualification

Key Challenges:
Making efficient and best use of resource to ensure business projects meet tight, often fixed deadlines

Management of multiple validation projects and improvement activities whilst maintaining compliance

Provides some ad-hoc support and troubleshooting of Validation strategy in the Elandsfontein and EMOs

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS/ EXPERIENCE

Degree calibre/Degree in Science or Engineering

In-depth knowledge and experience of manufacturing technology

1-3 Years FMCG industry experience

Knowledge of SA standards and legislation

In-depth knowledge and experience of validation standards

Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to influence at multiple levels is key

Good understanding of processing technology
