**Requirements**:
The successful applicant will meet the following requirements:

- Minimum of a relevant Master’s degree is a prerequisite.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in the tertiary education regulatory environment.
- A good understanding of regulatory bodies, registration and quality assurance processes.

**Competencies**:
The successful applicant will have the following competencies:

- Knowledge of the Higher Education environment (local and international).
- Familiar with quality assurance processes and data analysis and presentation.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to liaise with regulatory bodies, faculty members and management.
- Knowledge of the eLearning environment and distance education.

**Duties**:
**Overall goal**:
The Head: Internal Quality Assurance will form part of the Faculty management team responsible for and focusing on the relevant administration tasks and processes to ensure the registration of the institution as well as continued accreditation of new and existing programmes with CHE/DHET/SAQA. This will include the continued development, implementation and evaluation of institutional quality processes, in line with regulatory guidelines.

**Policy development and review**:

- Assist in the development of new policies.
- Develop a process for the review of policies.
- Assist with the approval process of new and reviewed policies.
- Ensure the effective implementation of new policies.
- Ensure the implementation of changes / reviews of policies.

**Internal Quality Assurance audits**:

- Provide administrative support to the institution during Programme Reviews and Institutional Audits
- Ensure that evidence / data is electronically available, accessible and usable for internal stakeholders and Institutional Audits.
- Assist with the planning and logistics for Internal Institutional Audits and CHE Institutional Audits.

**Internal Quality Assurance**:
Lead in the development of quality assurance, assessment, learning and teaching, research as well as programme specific procedures across the institution and operational departments where applicable.
- Maintain and enhance quality standards and procedures and inform faculty and management of quality issues and solutions.
- Consistently monitor and report on quality issues.
- Collation and analysis of academic management information in particular on the generation of programmes quality assurance reports (including surveys and benchmarking - all stakeholders), student progression (student vital stats, at-risk students, retention and LMS) and assessment practices (verification, Turnitin, Proquest etc.)
