Actuarial Assistant Manager

This position will enable you to lead a small team of new grads within the wider Pricing team. Come join the team and be part of the challenge- Deliverables include, but will not be limited to- Grow and nurture junior members of the personal lines pricing team - Advise on the technical aspects of model building - Guide junior team members to implement and maintain pricing models - Act as peer reviewer for work done in the pricing team - Assist with training and mentorship within the pricing team - Facilitate collaboration with other teams within the business - Competencies Required- An understanding of the core principles underlying scientific risk pricing - Hands-on experience building pricing models - The ability to motivate and empower individuals to grow the business and themselves - An agile mindset; being willing to change priorities as business needs change - Able to identify and correct technical/knowledge gaps junior members may have - Minimum Requirements- Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, Mathematical Statistics or related field - 3 years in a short-term insurance pricing role - In-depth knowledge of Generalised Linear Models - Proficient in SQL - Proficient in at least one of R or Python - Advantageous Competencies- Management or mentoring experience - Familiarity with non-linear modelling - TIA - Oracle PL/SQL Programming **Knowledge and Skills** - Actuarial Problem Solving- Issues management- Attention to detail and accuracy**Personal Attributes** - Self-development - Contributing independently- Interpersonal savvy - Contributing independently- Nimble learning - Contributing independently- Tech savvy - Contributing independently**Build a successful career with us** - We’re all about building strong, lasting relationships with our employees.
