Well established company looking for an extremely agile and resourceful Hotel Operation Manager to join their Team

**About Role.**

The purpose of the Manager role is to initially oversee the operation of the Hotel across South Africa. The position will be based in South Africa and duties will include management and oversight of the Hotels across South Africa. The role may require frequent travel outside South Africa.
- Work closely with the market’s General Manager and participate in the strategic discussion of our geographic expansion and understand what is needed to guarantee a “best in class” service level standard
- Constantly improve our processes and assume responsibility for cost savings through careful analysis and creative solutions
- Be a master of quality control and make sure we’re always delivering on the Sonder brand promise
- Collaborate cross-functionally with our HQs to optimize strategies and tactics
- Build a culture of “hospitality everywhere” among our guest operations team
- Undertake frequent performance reviews and proactively work with technical teams and service providers to advise them on best practice.
- Work with the Hotel Operator and Owner’s appointed Hotel Managers to ensure hotel management contract requirements are being met and that all obligations of Owner’s as the asset owner are being complied with.

**About You**
- A Bachelors’ degree in hospitality, operations or business management or a relevant field.
- 10 years post qualification experience in Africa, ideally as a 5-star Hotel
- Experience in property and hospitality management, engineering and facilities management.
- Good command of the English language, written and Oral.
- Experience in managing budgets, revenue proposals and forecasting results
- In-depth knowledge of the hotel / leisure / service sector
- Strong leadership skills to effectively manage and motivate the team to achieve high level of perform and exceed targets
- Knowledge of the hotel property management systems
- Accountable and resilient
- Ability to work under pressure

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Durban, KwaZulu-Natal: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
