**Duties and Responsibilities**

The Employee’s responsibilities shall include, among other things, the following:

- Agreeing payment terms and conditions with clients on credit arrangements
- Carrying out thorough credit checks for new customers to ensure eligibility for credit
- Managing internal and external debt payment questions and enquiries
- Ensuring payments are on track to be paid within the agreed terms
- Negotiating fair repayment plans with customers who are struggling to pay their debts
- Creating weekly debtor reports and accounts information for internal departments
- Keeping detailed records of collection activities and conversations
- Daily processing of Creditor invoices on accounting system.
- Building and maintain string relationships with creditors
- Preparing of payment packs for creditors payments.
- Preparation and processing of journal entries
- Daily processing of debtor and creditor bank transactions
- Ensure timeous receipt of all credit card transaction documents
- Monitor general ledger accounts, investigate discrepancies, and resolve issues
- Handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
- Maintain and update filing systems, both electronic and paper
- Assistance with adherence to the month-end timetables
- Assistance with adherence to the month-end procedure checklists and year planner
- Reconciliation of intercompany invoices and credit notes
- Checking to ensure that financial transactions are correct, processed on time and posted to the correct general ledger accounts
- Provide administrative support where required.

**Skills and Competencies**
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team orientated environment.
- Articulate with excellent communication skills in Afrikaans and English (both verbally & written).
- Accurate, detail orientated and organised. - Strong decision making and planning skills.
- Ability to function under pressure to meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
- Motivated and pro-active in order to grow the job beyond its current specifications.
- Computer literate
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook is essential.
- The job holder must be willing to master the use of new accounting and reporting software products.
- 8 - 10 years’ experience in similar role will be preferred
