Picker/kitter

**Position: Kitter / Picker**

**Location: Paarden Eiland, Cape Town**

**Salary: Market related**

**Reporting to: Warehouse Team Leader**

**LED Lighting SA** is a lighting company specialising in LED technology. The company is design oriented and manufactures standard and customised product solutions for the architectural, rail, commercial and industrial industries. This is a rapidly growing and highly innovative business with a young and energetic team.

We are looking for an energetic Kitter/Picker with electrical component knowledge to join our dynamic production team.

**Key Roles and Responsibilities**:

- Assist with receiving goods into stores
- Inspect received goods timeously to establish if it has been correctly supplied and that it is undamaged
- Book received goods into stock by updating the inventory list - manually and/or electronically
- Pack received goods into their correct storage locations in stores and ensure that it is stored correctly and safely
- Ensure that stock cards are up to date
- Report damaged and/or short supplied goods to the Stores and Logistics Manager
- Be fully committed and knowledgeable on all stock takes
- Maintain and monitor re-order quantities
- Report low stock levels to the Stores and Logistics Manager
- Report inaccurate re-order quantities to the Stores and Logistics Manager
- Ensure that the kitted job area is neat at all times
- Ensure that kitting is done correctly and completed timeously in line with operational objectives in production.
- Ensure that any discrepancies or inaccuracies are timeously highlighted to the Stores and Logistics Manager
- Handle all components and product with care
- Ensure that the stores and goods inward/dispatch areas are neat and well organized
- Convey product knowledge to co-workers to limit mistakes within the stores team
- Check your work and the work of others within your stores team
- Minimise and identify ways of minimising waste
- Make a conscious effort to be familiar with all stores functions in order to assist colleagues and stand in for them where needed - receiving/dispatch/stores
- Assembly of LED Lighting SA product into housings
- Ensure a high quality of work at all times and complete all task timeously
- Obey direct instructions from company management - written or verbal
- Take responsibility for your own actions and have pride in your work
- Work overtime as and when the company requires you to
- Come to work with a positive attitude
- Comply with all company policies and procedures
- Comply with all health and safety requirements
- Comply with the company code of conduct

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- Manufacturing environment experience
- Electrical components knowledge
- MRP system experience
- PC Skills
