Cad Draughtsperson

GIBB’s Roads and Highways Services Delivery Unit provides a comprehensive range of services that include traditional consulting services (design, procurement and contract supervision), Public Private Partnership (PPP) solutions and asset management services. This includes high capacity freeways, interchanges and bridges, airport pavements, rural roads (including low volume and haul roads) and municipal infrastructure. The team is supported by transportation and traffic engineers, geotechnical and material engineers, and other specialists.

This Sector is looking for another talented professional to complement their team, in the form of an **Draughtsperson (CAD)**.

**Core Purpose**

Provide support to Engineers by preparing clear and technically accurate drawings, diagrams and documents, based on design specifications using Computer Aided Design (CAD) Software.

**Key Performance Areas (KPIs)**

The below listed responsibilities and requirements are assessed during the interview and will further be confirmed with the relevant professional references that you currently are or have reported to in your previously two positions.
- Prepare, finalise and issue drawings for preliminary, detail and construction design for all Road design and related drawings.
- Keep a drawing register with all relevant drawings for record keeping and issuing of drawings to clients.
- Be able to maintain the drawing standards of the Transportation Team.
- Ensure compliance with Quality Management System.
- Uses computer-aided design (CAD) software to develop drawings.
- Consult sketches, notes, schematics, guides and other documentation to create detailed CAD drawings.
- Follow established CAD standards in regard to layering, dimensioning, text annotations and other aspects of CAD usage.
- Review existing CAD drawings and designs to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards.
- Edit, rework and update CAD drawing files as required.
- Responsible for maintaining an organized file system for production drawings.
- Responsible for converting existing drawings to PDF or other formats required.
- Follow established ISO 9001 quality system with regard to filing, issue and delivery of production drawings.
- Must be willing and able to assist with the general operations of the company.
- Prepare and submit weekly timesheets.
- Adhere to all administrative, technical and quality procedures of the company.

**Job Requirements**:

- Qualifications:_
- Grade 12 (Matric) with Certificate and/or Diploma in Drafting
- Experience:_
- Minimum 5 years draughting experience on _Roads related projects._
- Ability to operate latest CAD software (AutoCAD, Civil3D, Civil Designer and Trafsoft Road Sign Design Unlimited).
- Understanding various drawing file types and format changes.
- _Working knowledge of Civil3D and Civil Designer will be an added advantage._
