Department University of Venda -> Vice Chancellor and Principal -> Deputy Vice Chancellor: Teaching and Learning -> School of Education -> Curriculum Studies and Educational Management Job Title Senior Lecturer Post Level Lecturer, Junior Lecturer, Senior Lecturer Job Type Academic - Univen Funded Closing Date 14/11/2025 Job Requirements **For appointment at Senior Lecturer level**: - A PhD in History of Education, Philosophy of Education, or Sociology of Education. - A minimum of five years’ teaching experience at a tertiary institution, or at least seven years of professional experience in a relevant field. - A proven academic record with at least five publications in accredited, peer-reviewed journals. - Experience in postgraduate supervision will be considered an advantage. - Strong administrative capabilities and the ability to manage workload effectively. - Demonstrated ability to deliver engaging and inspiring teaching that stimulates student learning. **Duties**: - Teach at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. - Supervise Honours, Master’s, and Doctoral students. - Contribute to curriculum development and enhancement within the department. - Publish scholarly work in accredited academic journals. - Participate in community engagement initiatives. - Deliver instruction using E-learning platforms and digital resources. **For appointment at**Lecturer level**: - A Master’s degree in History of Education, Philosophy of Education, or Sociology of Education. - At least three years of teaching experience at tertiary level, or five years of professional experience in a related field. - Publications in peer-reviewed or non-peer-reviewed journals will be considered an advantage. **Duties**: - Teach at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. - Supervise Honours and Master’s students. - Support the development and refinement of the curriculum. - Contribute to academic publishing in accredited journals. - Engage in community outreach and development. - Utilize online teaching tools and platforms for course delivery. **For appointment at**Junior Lecturer level** - An Honours degree in History of Education, Philosophy of Education, or Sociology of Education. **Duties**: - Deliver instruction to undergraduate students. - Assist in the design and improvement of departmental curriculum.
