Duties/Pligte

**On Lecturer level**:

- Teaching and developing undergraduate and postgraduate module content in Statistics/Mathematical Statistics and/or Data Science;
- Participating in the Department's research activities;
- Honours students research supervision

**On Senior Lecturer level**:

- Teaching and developing undergraduate and postgraduate module content in Statistics/Mathematical Statistics and Data Science (with a preference for Data Science and Statistical Learning);
- Participating in and taking a leadership role in the Department's research activities;
- Supervision of postgraduate students.

Job Requirements/Pos Vereistes

**On Lecturer level**:

- A Master's degree in Statistics/Mathematical Statistics, Data Science, Statistical Learning or a related field (with a preference for Data Science and Statistical Learning);
- Currently registered for a PhD in Statistics/Mathematical Statistics, Data Science, Statistical Learning or a related field (with a preference for Data Science and Statistical Learning);
- The ability to teach Statistics/Mathematical Statistics and/or Data Science (with a preference for Data Science and Statistical Learning) at undergraduate level, especially to large groups;
- The ability to develop undergraduate and postgraduate modules in Statistics/Mathematical Statistics and/or Data Science (with a preference for Data Science and Statistical Learning);
- Experience in recognised modern statistical programming languages, for example, R, MATLAB, Python (NumPy, SciPy).

**On Senior Lecturer level**:

- A PhD in Statistics/Mathematical Statistics, Data Science, Statistical Learning or a related field (with a preference for Data Science and Statistical Learning);
- Proven experience in teaching Statistics/Mathematical Statistics, Data Science, Statistical Learning or a related field (with a preference for Data Science and Statistical Learning) at undergraduate and postgraduate level, especially to large groups;
- Proven experience in developing undergraduate and postgraduate modules in Statistics/Mathematical Statistics, Data Science, Statistical Learning or a related field (with a preference for Data Science and Statistical Learning);
- Proven experience in supervision of Master's students;
- Documented research output with respect to Statistics/Mathematical Statistics, Data Science, Statistical Learning or a related field (with a preference for Data Science and Statistical Learning) in accredited scientific journals and the ability to independently build a significant research profile;
- Experience in recognised modern statistical programming languages, for example, R, MATLAB, Python (NumPy, SciPy).
