Production Typesetter

TYPESETTER - JOB PROFILE POSITION PURPOSE

− The Typesetter is responsible for the accurate typesetting for design, print and digital mediums of the following inter alia:
Annual Financial Statements o Integrated Annual Reports o Sustainability Reports o Remuneration Reports

Governance Reports,

Results Adverts o Notices

Print ready files − Delivering a product of exceptional quality, within the agreed timelines. − The Typesetter reports to the Traffic Manager.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS − Customer focus:
Provide an accurately typeset document of exceptional quality − Workflow process:
Follow correct systems, procedures according to the workflow process on all projects o Highlight areas that should/could be changed or improved upon o Ensure that files are set up correctly and style sheets applied

Perform correct interpretation of the design into the typeset document in conjunction with the designer

Ensure accurate inclusion of content into the typeset document, and correct implementation of authors corrections o Ensure accurate plotting of graphs o Find solutions to potential work-related problems and communicate these proactively to the Traffic Manager

Check own house corrections on work, and are always kept below a maximum of 10% of actual hours spent o Ensure files are saved on the server − People:
Provide direction and support to internal production team o Assist with training and mentoring if required o Attend internal meetings as required by the workflow process

Keep the Traffic Manager and Project Manager informed of progress continuously

− Administration: Accurate daily recording of time with details worked on projects

− Relationships: o Build constructive relationships within the team o Collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver seamless integrated quality products to clients o Responsible for overall quality output of products

− Company strategy: o Implement & support company initiatives, and maintain and promote company culture − Any other responsibilities delegated by your line manager

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIFICATIONS − Education & Experience: o Relevant Typography diploma Job_Profile_Production_Typesetter_202203.docx203 PAGE 3 o 3 to 5 years, experience gained in a similar position (Typesetting Annual Financial Statements and Financial Reports) o Design and finished art experience advantageous o Previous experience gained in an advertising, a large corporate environment or textbook publications house o Working knowledge of printing and production processes o Microsoft Office suite o Advanced levels of Mac: Adobe CC suite, Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop
