To promote, develop the business and sell the South African Royal Canin range of products aligned to the objectives and strategy of the local business, to an identified client portfolio within a defined area, to become the number one brand of recommendation

**What will be your key responsibilities?**:
To provide excellent client support, product knowledge and training in the following areas
- SPT outlet staff & store owners
- Consumers
- Chain stores in client portfolio
- Call on retail outlets in your client portfolio
- Attend to consumer queries as directed by management
- Attend in store promos, commercial events, events and shows, or activities as necessary, promoting the products and supplying information

A BDO within the South African Sales team is expected to excel in the following areas
- Strong drive for results & targets required to meet business objectives
- Maintain and update client records as necessary
- Assistance and involvement in marketing, advertising and promotion of Royal Canin South Africa’s products
- Produce the necessary reports as stipulated by manager
- To train front staff and owners on our range of products
- General nutritional knowledge and pet health
- Prompt and efficient response to client (internal and external) questions and queries
- Maintain working relationship with logistics partner
- Source and evaluate potential new clients
- Adjusts content of sales presentations by studying the type of sales outlet or trade factor.
- Focuses sales efforts by studying existing and potential volume of clients business.
- Keeps management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analyses.
- Monitors competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, merchandising techniques, etc.
- Recommends changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments.
- Resolves customer complaints by investigating problems; developing solutions; preparing reports; making recommendations to management.
- Provides historical records by maintaining records on area and customer sales.
- On a continuous basis updating and improving nutritional knowledge and pet health.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Build strong relationships with demand associates and other departments in the business.

**What are we looking for?**:

- BCom degree or equivalent
- Minimum 5+ years Field Sales experience in a FMCG or retail environment (Proven experience in developing and maintaining a client base)
- Computer Literacy - Excel, Word, E-Mail, PowerPoint (Intermediate) - a must
- Valid South African driver’s license
- Client Liaison experience
- Fully Bilingual
- Willing to travel on a monthly basis
- Willing to work overtime and weekends when necessary
- Punctual
- Flexible
