Talent Candey is assisting a reputable Logistics client that is seeking a skilled Senior Estimator to join their company that is based in Durban.

**Overview of the role**

As a Senior Estimator, you will play a crucial role in our operations by providing accurate and detailed cost estimates for transportation and logistics projects. You will collaborate closely with our sales, operations, and finance teams to ensure competitive and profitable pricing, while considering various factors such as transportation modes, distances, cargo volumes, and other relevant variables. Your expertise in estimating will contribute to our ability to win new business and maintain strong relationships with existing clients.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
- Advanced certifications or additional relevant qualifications are a plus.
- Proven experience as an estimator, preferably in the logistics or transportation industry.
- In-depth knowledge of transportation modes, pricing structures, and industry-specific cost factors.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate complex concepts to stakeholders.
- Proficiency in using relevant software tools for estimation and analysis.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Results-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering accurate and competitive cost estimates.
- Knowledge of local regulations and industry standards in the logistics and transportation sector is desirable.

**Responsibilities**:

- Analyze project specifications, scope of work, and client requirements to determine the most effective and efficient transportation solutions.
- Collaborate with the sales team to review bid opportunities and assess the feasibility of projects.
- Develop comprehensive cost estimates by considering various factors such as transportation modes, distances, cargo volumes, labor costs, fuel prices, and other relevant variables.
- Research market conditions, supplier rates, and industry trends to ensure accurate pricing and competitiveness.
- Prepare and submit detailed proposals and bids to clients within designated timelines.
- Participate in client meetings and presentations to discuss cost estimates and address any questions or concerns.
- Review and negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with clients to ensure mutual satisfaction and profitability.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of cost estimates, bid documentation, and related correspondence.
- Collaborate with the operations and finance teams to monitor project costs, analyze profitability, and provide recommendations for cost optimization.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to transportation and logistics estimation.

**Salary**:
R16 000 - R22 000 per Month (CTC) - dependent on experience

**Salary**: R16,000.00 - R22,000.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Durban, KwaZulu-Natal: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:
