**Maintenance Manager**
**Criteria**:
- **Mechanical Engineering Qualification**:
- **5 years + working experience as a Maintenance Manager, ideally in a heavy engineering environment**:
- Solid understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics, PLC’s, budgets, government codes and standards applicable to safety and accreditation standards
**Daily Functions:**:
- Managing the complete maintenance function of the company including management of staff, scheduling and assigning work, requesting materials and supplies, inspecting equipment, buildings and grounds, maintain systems and equipment by upholding preventive and predictive maintenance schedules; restoring, repairing, rebuilding, or replacing faulty or inoperative components and parts in order to meet operational objectives
- Position will be appointed as Competent Person for Machinery in terms of OSHAs ACT - GMR 2.1
- Ensure availability of critical equipment within company targets through effective breakdown management and the implementation of preventative maintenance,
- Manage the installation, repair and maintenance of the buildings, grounds, plant machines and electrical equipment, electric-power generating equipment, electric power utility transmission, distribution and control equipment and schedules preventative maintenance programs,
- Prepares estimates of work hours, materials and resources required for projects, conferring with management regarding job, workload and job priorities,
- Schedules and inspects completed work, including buildings, equipment and grounds, ensuring assigned jobs are completed correctly, safely and effectively,
- Requisitions, orders and purchases supplies and equipment, maintaining records of supplies used, conferring with suppliers to select and recommend new supplies and maintenance methods to improve plant operations,
- Establishes work schedules and ensures they are implemented correctly,
- Works with Process Engineers’ online reconstruction and confers with contractors to resolve new equipment installation problems,
- Assist with new plant construction or additions & supervise the commissioning of new equipment,
- Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, complying with legal codes and regulations.
- Ensure staff under his/her responsibility follow safety instructions, use of PPE and any other rules related with Health and Safety set by the company and to be applied in his/her area of responsibility.
- Collaborate with Quality Manager as well as Health and Safety team responsible to identify and evaluate the risks related with the works carried out under his/her control.
- Meets maintenance financial standards by providing annual budget information; monitoring expenditures; identifying variances; implementing corrective actions.
- Cooperating in reducing incidents, breakdowns and improving the work environment through team awareness on the use of standards and technical and operational procedures, contributing to meet corporate standards.
- Meets maintenance operational standards by contributing maintenance information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems.
- Accomplishes maintenance human resource objectives by selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counselling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising job contributions; adhering to policies and procedures.
