Actuarial & Data Analytics (Product Owner)

**Role Purpose**:
This role is responsible for the definition of customer-centric items or user stories from the capability/feature roadmap defined by the Product Manager, ranking and prioritizing them, and adding them to the team backlog.
You will be required to work to Agile principles and will be responsible for the prioritization and delivery of the backlog of change initiatives to maximize business benefit of the products and features we offer.

**Your responsibilities will include**:
Financial Reporting & Capital Management
Monthly and annual liability valuations, regulatory reporting and board reporting are expected to be of the highest standard, delivered on time and with excellence - including automation of returns and reports.
Product Development
Data Analytics and Insights
Detailed analytics at customer, channel and product level is required to drive performance, product development and prioritize strategic roadmap (developments)
Data Science and Optimization
Identify business processes in need of optimization and work with Data Science team to develop models and solutions that drive efficiency, optimization and automation

Grade 12 essential

Mathematical, Statistical or Actuarial degree essential
A minimum of 8 years’ experience in a data & analytics role essential
Experience in successfully Leading and mentoring agile / DevOps teams in Large multi-team environments
Experience in agile methodologies, such as Scrum, Kanban, Extreme Programming (XP), Test Driven Design and Behavioural Driven Design
Experience in a Data & Analytics role
Excellent problem solving skills, with the ability to minimize overhead tasks for the team and manage interdependences with other teams
Excellent relationship building and influencing skills, with the ability to foster an inclusive team culture
Excellent business acumen and understanding of the role of the capability in contributing to business value
In-depth understanding of both the current Telecommunications and digital. services market and emerging business and technology trends
A strong customer-centric focus, with an entrepreneurial and ROL mindset Ability to function with a high degree of autonomy

The base location for this role is Midrand, Vodacom Campus
