**#Wehiring**: A Facilitator needed in the Gardens area.

An exciting opportunity for a passionate facilitator experienced in working with neurodivergent teenagers. Support in the schooling environment is needed for an autistic thirteen-year-old. Training and supervision are provided for professional growth.

Working hours:
Monday - Friday: 07:50-15:00.

**Requirements**:

- Open-minded, patient, reliable, non-judgemental and calm.
- Proficient in English.
- Must have experience previously working with neurodivergent children/teenagers.
- Must have a neuro affirming and low arousal approach.
- A background in psychology, or senior phase education is advantageous.
- Long term commitment.
- Own a reliable car and a valid driver's license.
- Passion for topics like wildlife conservation, or modern world history, or star wars would be a bonus as these are some of the child’s special interests.

**Responsibilities**:

- Build a trusting relationship with the learner.
- Attend school with the child.
- Acting as a bridge of communication between the teacher, learner, and parents.
- Assist the child with breaking down tasks and chunking information as and when needed.
- Facilitate the child's understanding and academic learning in social, structured, and unstructured domains, when needed.
- Support with the child’s executive functioning around planning, problem-solving, reasoning, etc.
- Support and scaffolding to help lessen any uncertainties and anxiety that may be experienced by the child. (Pre-empting any possible triggers)
- Regular, in-depth communication providing parents with all details needed for homework, assessments/exams, and projects that need to be done at home.

**Salary**: R10,000.00 - R15,000.00 per month
