**Work scope includes**:

- Site supervision and coordination
- Legal Responsibilities & Appointment:

- 8(2)(i) in terms of Occupation Health and Safety Act
- 2.6.1 or 2.9.2 in terms of Mines Health and Safety Act
- Direction / Coordination of all construction contractors and interfaces
- Coordination / facilitation of all Host Site / Client interfaces (incl. work permits, security, safety, environmental, QA/QC, deliveries, access, etc.)
- Preparation of Site Implementation Plan & Methodology
- Relevant Risk Assessments
- Safety Surveillance and coordination of Safety personnel
- Technical guidance to Contractors in accordance with drawings
- General QA/QC and resolution of site queries with input from discipline engineers
- Review of construction Contractor datapacks
- Verification of Contractor progress and payment claims
- Input to overall programme and review of Contractor programmes
- Daily diaries and progress reporting
- Site document control

**The site supervisor undergoes**:

- Medical testing and needs to be declared fit by a qualified medical practitioner for site work
- Safety and Health Induction Courses as well as any other site Training courses required by the host site
- legal liability training.
- Standard working hours are 55 hours per week and between 06h00 to 18h00 from Monday to Friday. Work is site based and split between site surveillance and site office work._

**Requirements**:

- Civil, Structural & Mechanical background
- Electrical & Instrumentation experience is beneficial
- Previous OHSA / MHSA Legal appointments
- Contract management experience related to NEC3 is beneficial
- More than 10 years’ experience
- Conversant with: Mines Health and Safety Act 29 of 1996 and regulations & Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHS) Act 85/1993
- Conversant in MW Word, Excell (MS Project optional)
