**Job description - Accounts Clerks**
**Job summary**:
Account Clerks manage accounts and provide support for the accounts and finance for all practices of Dental and Ortho. They may also be responsible for payroll or maintaining vendor accounts and processing procurement requests for goods and services. They also maintain and ensure that financial patient information and accounting records are accurate and up to date. Other duties and responsibilities include:
**Principal duties and responsibilities will include, but not limited to the following**:
- Sorting general accounts and bookkeeping.
- Indicate codes on various medical aids.
- Follow up on rejected claims.
- If no payments made - remove IC on spreadsheet
- Inform and enquire old elite inform Head office of any queries.
- Spreadsheets weekly
- Reconcile
- Daily sheets daily
- All Denture patients on MEO
- Denture claims - medical aid 8101 IC
- Denture repairs - Add on spreadsheet.
- Indicate when delivered on Spreadsheet.
- Liaise with accounts coordinators to check folders.
- In charge of project managing dental assistants.
- Creating and maintaining spreadsheets for practices.
- Operating data terminals calculators and other standard office equipment.
- Checking stock management.
- Performing clerical work and interoffice support including receiving and processing mail.
- Invoicing and reconciliation for varying practices.
- Maintaining and promoting excellent relations with patients.
- Assembling, sorting, and tabulating codes and filing data.
- Verifying patient claims and processing orders and deposit slips.
- Assists in dealing with patient queries.
- Assisting in areas where required in support staff.
**Credentialing Requirements**
- Must be familiar in working within an account setting.
- Shall be able to read, write and speak effectively.
**Education**
- Knowledge of business-level English, both verbal and written
- Must be in possession of a matric certificate.
- Must be good with statistics.
