Bond Store Team Leader

Duties and responsibilities:

- Registering of receipted bonded cargo
- Weekly client reports for required acquittals
- Completion of customs bill of entries at the end of the accounting period of excise account [when required]
- Submission of customs excise account on a monthly and quarterly basis
- Verifying bill of entries for customs purpose
- Act as the representative during Customs inspection and management of the whole inspection process
- Ensure SSR is signed by Customs Officer and filled
- Management of detained Cargo
- Supervision & Development of Bond/Custom staff.
- Liaise with clients daily regarding workload and planning.
- Follow system procedures when dealing with bonded/Detained cargo.
- Ensure adherence to SARS regulations and procedures.
- Registering of receipted bonded cargo in the Bond Register.
- Registering removal of bonded cargo in the Bond Register.
- Verifying DA260, DA262 ETC and all SARS relevant documents...
- Scanning documents in order to link them on Winpirate (internal system).
- Matching cargo records on the system
- Verifying bill of entries for Customs purposes.
- Obtain Customs release for cleared cargo
- Filing of all documentation.
- Maintaining list of bonded receipts.
- Weekly client reports for required acquittals.
- Liaise with Customs on suspected fraudulent activity.
- Completing customs bill of entries at the end of the accounting period of excise account (when required).
- Completing customs bill of entries for cargo moved to warehouse not submitting excise accounts (XIB).
- Completing DA32 documents for cargo leaving the bond store.(when required).
- Submitting customs excise account on a monthly and quarterly basis.
- Make adjustments, where required, to the rate of duty after budget speech by finance minister.
- Check stock reports (when required).
- Run bond register report (when required).
- Maintain the Bond Store exception report and ensure that the report does not display any outdated/old items.
- Assist with internal/external (customs) audits.
- Report to management on warehouse, shipment and data maintenance.
- Manage imports shipments ensuring the correct quantities are received in
- Obtaining regular updates of the customs tariff guide, schedule 1 part 1.
- Obtaining regular updates of the customs tariff guide, schedule 1 part 2 (excise).
- Checking ex-bond documents for imported cargo.
- Coordinate and manage the receiving and packing processes with the team as per product SOPs in place.
- Releasing the correct cargo cleared from bond.
- Stay updated with changes to the customs modernization program.
- Incorporate changes into operations where necessary.
- Assist with internal bonded queries and documents requirements from warehouse.
- Investigate all stock queries and provide feedback within the agreed timeframe.
- Practice good housekeeping and ensure that the offices are clean and neat at all times.
- Report any health and safety incidents and damaged stock to your Superiors as soon as you become aware of such.
- Actively participate in all warehouse health and safety initiatives.
- Assist with small projects within the warehouse as and when required.

Requirements:

- Matric compulsory
- 3-5 years experience in related position
- Post matric qualification an advantage
- Supervisory skills essential
- WINPIRATE knowledge advantageous
- Previous working experience with Bond Store processes
- Experience in Bond store documentation/administration
- Knowledge of customs regulations and procedure
- Strong communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy

- Ability to work in a collaborative team/environment with the ability to work independently
