**The Role**

We are recruiting an analyst to join the Corporate Development Team. The analyst will be responsible for supporting all fundraising and M&A opportunities at Onafriq. As a core member of the Corporate Development team, the analyst will report to the Director of Corporate Development and work closely with senior management.

The CorpDev Analyst will be at the heart of shaping Onafriq’s strategic direction. He or she will collaborate with visionary leaders across Onafriq’s business, and the ecosystem more broadly, to source M&A opportunities, funding optionalities and growth drivers.

The role will be located in either Johannesburg, South Africa, Lagos, Nigeria or Nairobi, Kenya

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Support investors and Onafriq team through debt and equity fundraising processes
- Support with M&A transactions including, but not limited to, developing investment memorandums, managing due diligence processes and supporting closing and integration processes
- Manage investor reporting, including quarterly ESG reports and investor newsletters
- Identify and own opportunities to improve investor reporting and communications processes
- Coordinate annual investor conference
- Develop landscape of investable opportunities
- Manage and maintain captable
- Generally, uphold the values of the Company
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
- 3-5 years of experience in an investment banking, corporate development, consulting or strategy role within a startup
- Demonstrated leadership skills in a fast-moving and complex environment.

**Desired skills**:

- Understanding of global fintech landscape and funders
- Ability to simplify and communicate complicated, ambiguous concepts through both writing and presentations
- Strong project management and relationship building skills with a demonstrated ability to work across multiple internal and external stakeholders
- Proven financial acumen and understanding of both debt and equity structures
- Experience building and evaluating financial models
- Proactive problem solver with ability to independently formulate solutions
- Experience working across multiple countries in Africa
- French speaker
