Tutor Teacher

We are currently looking for a hardworking and well-organized **Tutor** to assist a **Grade 12 student** with IEB matric in preparation for prelims and final exams.

Subjects for which tutoring is required are:

- Maths
- English HG
- Information Technology
- Physical Science

This position is based in **Constantia** (Southern Suburbs) and the Tutor will be required to work three days a week for two hours per day if possible.

You are required to drive to the students' house to conduct high-quality one-on-one lessons.

**Main duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to**:

- Designing a study and revision plan.
- Helping and monitoring the student
- Using course material already available to help motivate the student to achieve his potential
- Organised and structured monitoring sessions to be created before each lesson with objectives
- Providing teaching resources and guidance to the student where these are lacking
- Administering assignments/progress assessment and mock exams in preparation for prelims and finals as well as memos for marking
- Overseeing marking and giving feedback on assignments to the student and parents

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- Bachelor of Education (BEd)
- Experience in Tutoring/Teaching higher grades (Grade 12 preferable)

- Computer literate
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to identify critical areas quickly and accurately
- Excellent administrative skills
- Attention to detail
- Proven organisational skills
- Able to perform and manage deadlines and meet them
- Be committed and reliable

**Specific Requirements**:

- Own reliable transport and valid drivers licence
- Speak fluent in English and able to tutor in this language
- Solid and positive references
- Proven track record in a similar role
- No criminal record
- Clear credit record
- Vaccinated against covid-19 or prepared to be vaccinated prior to commencing work
- It will be important that the student can relate to the tutor and have found that younger tutors have been better accepted.

**Working Hours**:2 hours per day, 3 days per week on weekdays from 15H30 onwards.

Offering a salary is between R 700 to R900 per hour.
