**Purpose of the Role** To facilitate operations through the accurate and timely execution of tasks within the warehouse environment as assigned to you by your relevant supervisor / team leader. **Responsibilities** Receiving: - Ensure pallets are loaded in a safe, secure manner and there is compliance to stock / pallet storage instructions. - Offloading and loading of all adhoc vehicles in the yard. - Maintaining a high standard of housekeeping in the yard by ensuring that all pallets are separated according to "good' and "bad" and that they are stacked and stored safely. - Advise housekeeping problems in a timely manner to ensure that the housekeeping standards are maintained. - Offloading of inbounds, palletizing of inbounds, counting and labelling of inbounds, wrapping of pallets, Movement of palletized stock from receiving bays to staging areas. Inventory: - Accurate execution of tasks as instructed by scanners. These will typically include the following (but not limited to) - Bin to bin movements, stock consolidation tasks, RBT’s, cycle counts etc by the scanner/system. Picking: - Accurate picking of any and of all types of orders.(internal and external) - Decanting of no stocks to original picking bin. Conveyor Work: - This is includes working on any of the conveyors and or machinery on the conveyor system to support the departmental KPI’s to support our customers experience. Packing: - Packing of internal and or external orders to within the departmental KPI’s to support our customer experience. Distribution: - This will include tasks such as loading, offloading & scanning of stock and or customer orders. Adhoc Task: - Supporting DC activity for any / all ad hoc work tasks that are required to be executed. - These can include but are not limited to building combos, breaking combos, labelling, rebooting, cleaning, fixing pallets etc. - Performance in line with departmental goals, targets, standards and UPM. Housekeeping - Ensure that your area of responsibility is clean, neat and tidy at all times in accordance with the standard. - It will be your responsibility to identify if any of your allocated equipment (tools) is faulty to ensure you receive a replacement. - It is also your responsibility to ensure that you look after your allocated equipment (tools). - Ensures that all equipment in your area of responsibility is kept clean and in good working condition throughout your shift. - Ensure daily check sheets are completed and filed before / after using it and that it’s handed in at your Supervisor. Health and Safety - Play an active role on the Health and Safety committee as a Section 8 appointee. - Champion and enforce health and safety practices as per the DC safety standards and procedures. **Competencies** - Good numeracy and literacy skills - Ability to work well under pressure - High attention to detail and level of accuracy - Strong team player with the ability to drive change positively - Relentless drive to meet deadlines and customer demands **Requirements**: - Grade 12/Matric/NQF 4 - Reach truck license for 13 m or counter balance forklift license - 1 Year reach truck or equivalent experience - Clear criminal record - Must possess a current certificate or license
